At Footprints Podiatry, we have a team of podiatrists with a wealth of experience. With operating clinics across the NW Coast, we are ready to take care of all your podiatry needs.
Julian Varney
Senior Podiatrist & Owner
Julian Varney has more than 25 years of experience in podiatry. His areas of expertise include sports injury management, gait analysis, orthotic provision, kids’ development and more. In his free time, he is a keen bushwalker and cyclist.
Nicola Varney
Senior Podiatrist & Owner
Nicola Varney has more than 25 years of experience in all things podiatry. Her areas of expertise include ingrown nail surgery, diabetic foot care, kids’ development and foot care, plantar wart treatment and more. In her free time she enjoys singing in the choir and organising the lives of the boys in her house.
Sonia Lancaster
Podiatrist
Sonia originally is from the UK where she qualified in Podiatry and she has been in Australia for over 11 years. She worked in regional South Australia and Victoria and fell in love with Tasmania after first visiting in 2015. She is interested in all facets of Podiatry, and prides herself on providing thorough and gentle care.
In her spare time, she is an enthusiastic musician, playing viola and violin. She enjoys walking, travelling, and exploring new cultures. She is married to Trevor and has 2 grown up kids.
Suzi Thomson
Podiatrist
Suzi became a podiatrist because she loves hiking. She holds a Bachelor of Podiatry from the University of Newcastle and has a strong interest in treating people with foot and ankle pain.
When not in the clinic you might find her out on a hike, exploring the northwest, or at the beach with her Weimaraner, Harley. One day she’s going to hike the South Coast Track, the Western Arthurs, and the Pacific Crest Trail. One day…
Jack McComb
Podiatrist
Jack became a podiatrist because he loves sport and is intrigued with how the body moves and works. He is originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland but graduated with a Bachelors of Podiatry from Glasgow Caledonian University. Since graduating he has worked in the private and public sector in Oxford, London and Melbourne.
Outside of work Jack is normally playing golf, at the gym or watching rugby union. Jack and Amy moved over to Tasmania together and are looking forward to getting out and about in the local towns and exploring what Tasmania has to offer.
Amy Coughtrey
Podiatrist
Amy grew up in Brighton in the UK. She moved to Australia in January 2024 to work as a Podiatrist and do as much travel on this side of the world as possible!
Along with her partner Jack, she has recently travelled to New Zealand and ticked off lots of places on her Australian bucket list and can’t wait to go Skiing in Japan next year!
She qualified from the University of Salford in the UK in 2020 and has worked in multiple private clinics since then. Including London, Brighton and Melbourne. She has a keen interest in treating paediatric patients and Nail surgery.
Outside of work she likes to go to Pilates, spin classes and skiing. As well as trying out new foodie and coffee locations! Her favourite thing to do with her time off is get on a plane and explore a new place!
In the future she would love to have an English Cocker Spaniel!
