Metatarsal Pain

Sharp, aching or burning pain in the ball of your foot can be a sign of metatarsalgia. Sharp or shooting pain, numbness and tingling, and pain that worsens with activity are also signs to watch out for.

The causes of metatarsal pain range to include intense training and activity, poorly-fitting shoes, stress fractures, neuromas, excess weight and foot deformities.

Our Podiatrists can pinpoint the source to determine the appropriate treatment going forward. In some cases changing shoes may provide enough relief. In others, orthotics or surgery may be necessary.
